Hospitals

Section Purpose:

This documentation describes hospitals in the system - what they are, how to create them, and how to manage their data, departments, members, and invitations.

The MyTotalMix system is multi-tenant - it supports many independent facilities within a single installation. To navigate the system correctly, it helps to understand the following concepts:

  • Hospital - a facility (tenant) using the system. Hospitals form a flat list - no hospital is subordinate to another.
  • Department - an organizational unit within a hospital (e.g. ICU, pediatric ward). Departments can be nested within other departments.
  • Scope - the set of departments in whose context you work. It determines which prescriptions and bags you can see.
  • “Entire hospital” - a convenient shortcut in the interface that covers all departments of a given hospital.

The Hospitals item in the side menu opens a list of all hospitals you have access to. From the list you can create a new hospital or open the details of an existing one.

Click the create hospital button and fill in the data in the Create hospital dialog:

  • Hospital name Required - the full name of the facility (e.g. Jurasz Clinical Hospital).
  • Alias Auto - a shortened identifier generated automatically from the name.
  • Description Optional - an additional description of the hospital (up to 500 characters).
  • First e-mail domain Required - the domain of e-mail addresses assigned to the hospital (e.g. hospital.example.pl).

Confirm with the Create hospital button.

The hospital details view is divided into three tabs:

  • Overview - basic data, contact, e-mail domains, and the danger zone.
  • Departments - the department tree and its attributes.
  • Members and invitations - hospital users and invitations.

The Overview tab presents:

  • Basic data - name, alias, description.
  • Contact - the hospital’s contact details.
  • E-mail domains - the list of e-mail address domains assigned to the hospital.
  • Danger zone - archiving and deleting the hospital.
Who can see the hospital list?

Access to hospitals results from permissions in the Tenants category (create, read, edit, delete). Without the read permission, a user will not see the Hospitals item in the menu.

How does a hospital differ from a department?

A hospital is a top-level facility (flat list), while a department is a unit within a hospital (nestable). Prescriptions and bags are created in the context of a department, whereas members and invitations are managed at the hospital level.
